Joseph T. Farver

Joseph T. Farver, age 91, of Berwick passed away February 5, 2024, at Marywood Heights Nursing Home, Scranton.

Born in Berwick on May 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Arle R. and Alverna (Davis) Farver. He attended Berwick Area High School. He entered the National Guard in 1950 and was called to active duty with the Army and served during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he became a repair toolman, at the Forge, AC&F, and later Deluxe home where he finished out his career until retiring.

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. Joseph was a lifelong member of the West Berwick Hose Company where he served as Fire Chief for many years. He had a green thumb and loved gardening, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, stamp collecting and woodworking.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Dawn M. (Weiser) Farver of 70 years; son, Joseph Farver, Berwick; daughters, Beth Vaughn and husband Curtis, Berwick; Kelly Kindig and husband William, Millville; Gail Farver, Danville; daughter-in-law, Denise Farver; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Farver; brothers, Jim Farver, Jack Farver, Charles Farver, Wayne Farver, Terry Farver, Robert Farver; sisters, Lois Laubach, Barbara Berroth, and Nancy Reichart.  

Memorial service will be held Tuesday February 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service.
