Richard R. Hettinger, age 54, of Shickshinny, passed away February 13, 2024, with family by his side.
Born in Berwick on April 17, 1969, he was the son of Robert and Carolyn Hettinger. He graduated from Berwick High School. He then decided to join the US Air Force. He worked for International Paper, for many years where he was a forklift operator.
In Richards free time, he enjoyed practicing bushido and ninjutsu, he became so advanced at both, that he earned two black belts. When he was not doing martial arts, he loved being outdoors and hunting. His favorite past time was watching football and even playing football.
He will be greatly missed by his children, son, Cody Johnson, Shamokin; and daughter Heaven Leigh, Bloomsburg; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Terry Oakum, Berwick; and Robert Need, Maryland; sister, Paula Shuler and husband Rick, Berwick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dottie Kester.
At the family’s request there will be no public services.
