Sandra K. Adkins, age 81, of Berwick passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Celebration Villa, Berwick.
Born in Bloomsburg on July 4, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Harold C. and Marie J. (Whitenight) Craver. She was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1960. At the age of 17, she began working at Bell Telephone which later became AT&T. She retired after 30 years of service.
After retirement, she and her husband, William “James” Adkins, moved to Virginia. They spent several years sailing on their boat and camping. In 2012, they moved back to the Berwick area.
Sandra was raised as a Methodist, but during their time in Virgina, she attended a Community Church. No matter where she was, she always kept her faith in God. She was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2016; and a sister, Sally Craver.
She will be greatly missed by her brother, H. Robert Craver and wife Sandra, Berwick; a niece, Brenda Pinterich; a nephew, Michael Craver; a great nephew, Reed Pinterich; and great nieces, Mallory Pinterich; and Elizabeth Craver.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
