Dwain M. Straight, age 50, of Berwick passed away on October 16, 2024, at his home.
Born in Lewisburg on September 22, 1974, he was the son of the late Connie L. (Larue) Straight, and Dean C. Straight Sr and wife Judy, Tower City. He attended Selinsgrove Schools and furthered his education at Susquehanna University. He majored in music theology, and he earned his PHD in Ministry. He was part of the kitchen staff for various restaurants in the area for over 30 years and most recently was a delivery driver for 2 Kings Pizzeria and worked for Press Enterprise.
He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, where he played the organ, as well as other churches including, Good Sheperd Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, Emmanuel UCC, and Pond Hill UCC. Music was his passion; he could pick up any instrument and play it. He enjoyed crocheting and made many items that he sold on his Facebook page called “Crazy Crochet Guy”. He also recently opened a new business with his sister at KAS Scents and Creation which he was very excited about.
In addition to his father, he will be greatly missed by his sister, Karen M. Chopik, Berwick; nieces and nephews, Tiffanie Pursel; Kacie Altieri; Matthew Altieri; Dean C. Straight III; and Christi Monahan.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dean C. Straight Jr; grandparents, Howard and Dorothy Straight; and Arthur and Shirley Thomas.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, starting at 3:00 pm at St. Johns UCC Church, 416 Church St, Wapwallopen, PA 18660.
