Richard A. Maynard, Jr., age 56, of Berwick passed away suddenly on March 3, 2025, at his home.
Born in Berwick on March 5, 1968, he was the son of Richard A. Maynard, Sr., Berwick and the late Karen (Ridall) Maynard. He attended Doylestown Area Schools. He worked for several local businesses throughout the years. Most recently he was employed at Zeiser Vault Company until 2005 before becoming disabled.
Richard was a HAM radio operator and was a former member of CMARC. His call sign was NQ3Y. He loved wood working; his famous saying was “It can’t leave the shop until its perfect”. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He played guitar and liked having a good jam session with his friends. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed following NASCAR, his favorite driver was Denny Hamlin.
In addition to his father, he will be greatly missed by his wife, Joanne R. (Richendrfer) Maynard with whom he would have celebrated 20 years of marriage on March 5; stepson, CJ Blake; aunt, Mary Remley; niece, Molly Richendrfer; and many cousins.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John “Colon” and Florence Maynard; Marston and Ruth Ridall; and many aunts and uncles.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm on March 10, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E. Third Street, Nescopeck, immediately followed by a funeral service. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
