Galen E. Snyder, age 86, of Bloomsburg passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Cleaveland Township on January 27, 1939, he was one of seven children born to the late Amos V. and Froney A. (Johnson) Snyder. He was raised and educated in the Numidia area. He entered the U.S. Army in 1962 and served honorably for 2 years. For many years, he was employed at Dana Corporation in Berwick.
Galen enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as camping.
He leaves behind a brother, Robert Snyder and wife Doris, Bloomsburg; sisters, Betty Harter, Bloomsburg; and Bess Krist, Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a daughter, Gail and a granddaughter, Courtney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Cotner and Doris “Susie” Davenport; and a brother, Carl “Hap” Snyder.
At Galen’s request, there will be no public services. He will be buried with his family in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg at the convenience of his family.
