Wayne E. Kemp Jr

Wayne E. Kemp Jr, age 77, of Berwick passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Emmanuel Center in Danville.

Born in Berwick on November 18, 1948, he was a son of the late Wayne E. and Jean (Shrader) Kemp Sr. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1966. For many years, Wayne worked as a heavy equipment operator on road construction projects and during the building of the nuclear power plant.

Wayne was a member of the Berwick VFW Post 821, the Slavonic Club, the American Ukrainian Citizens Club, the Elks Lodge 1138, and the Danville Moose Lodge 1133. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and loved going to games whenever he could. He was thrilled to attend the world series game in 2022, even though they lost.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 48 years, Christine L. (Bloom) Kemp; children, Brian Kemp and wife Michele, FL; Stephen Kemp and wife Trina, FL; Antoinette Bucher and husband Michael, Pittsburg; Jennifer Kemp, Bloomsburg; Shelley Kemp?, Bloomsburg; Wayne Kemp III and companion Nina Masteller, Berwick;  cherished grandchildren, Zach and Riley Kemp; Jayden Kemp; Robert and Stephen McGee; James Hughes; Lilly and Wayne Kemp IV; and an adored great granddaughter, Athena. He also leaves behind his sisters, Linda Toth and husband Nick, Berwick; Donna Peters and husband Donald, Berwick; brothers, Dennis Kemp, Wilkes-Barre; Sterling Kemp and wife Evelyn, Berwick; a brother-in-law, Alan Bloom; sister-in-law, Darlene Burd and husband Eugene; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck to help defray his final expenses, or you can attend a Phillies game in his memory.
