Eva M. (Chapin) Potter, age 91 of Mifflin Township passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Gardens of Millville.
Born at home in Pond Hill on February 5, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Hazel M. (Hess) Chapin. She was a graduate of Nescopeck High School, class of 1952.
In 1953, she married her beloved husband, Roy E. Potter, Sr. They began their life together and soon started a family. They lived and worked on the family farm where they raised 10 children. She greatly missed Roy after his passing on February 15, 2021.
Eva dedicated the early years of her marriage to providing a loving home for her husband and children. When her children were still younger, she worked nights at the cigar factory and a clothing factory to help contribute financially. When they got a bit older, she began working as a nurse’s aide at the Berwick Retirement Village where she was employed for 35 years before retiring at the age of 83.
She an active Mifflinville United Methodist Church for many years. She loved spending time with her family. Eva enjoyed swimming even in the colder months of spring and fall, she would swim from May through October.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Robin Potter, Mifflinville; Beth Fenstermacher and husband Tod, Bloomsburg; Twilah Keck and husband Brian, Bloomsburg; Daniel Potter and wife Laura J., Bloomsburg; Roy Potter, Jr., Bloomsburg; Kathy Roth and husband Russell, Catawissa; Forrest Potter and wife Laura E., Elysburg; Mark Potter and wife Wendy, Catawissa; daughter-in-law, Deb Potter, Nescopeck; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Rudolph “Boots” Chapin; sister, Freda Pague and husband Olin “Boone”; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy A. Potter and Benjamin Potter; sister, Marie Frederick and husband William; brothers, Drue Chapin and wife Kay; Robert A. Chapin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Chapin.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on February 22, 2026, at Ponduce Farms, 270 White Church Rd, Elysburg, PA.
