William T. Lear, age 83, of Shickshinny passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born at home in Berwick on October 15, 1942, he was a son of the late Theodore and Betty (Snyder) Lear. He was educated at Nescopeck Schools. In his younger years, he held various jobs with several local businesses, including local law enforcement, where he was a constable. He later worked at DelMonte Foods for many years before retiring.
Bill was a life member of the Nescopeck Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Quarterback Club at Northwest Area High School where his sons attended. He greatly enjoyed antiquing and flea markets. He also liked hunting.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Donna L. (Sorber) Lear; children, William T Lear Jr and wife Mindy, Wapwallopen; Denise A Conklin and husband Brad, Wapwallopen; Shelly M Roinick and husband Mike, Nescopeck Twp; Charles Lear, Benton; Angela Lear, Berwick; Greg Sorber and wife Jen, Mooresville, NC; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters, Hannah M Armstrong and husband Lenny, Berwick; Gloria Siegel and husband Terry, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Douglas Lear; a son, Brian Lear; and sister, Betty J Brenniesen and husband Richard.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Silver Maple Cemetery, Wapwallopen. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
