Charles H. McAfee, Sr, age 81, of Berwick, passed away on Sunday March 29, 2026, at his home, with his beloved wife by his side.
Born in Berwick on January 11, 1945, he was a son of the late Frederick Snyder, Sr. and Marian (Snyder) McAfee. He attended Berwick Area Schools. He served honorably in the National Guard for 8 years. For many years he worked at the Berwick Hospital, and most recently he worked at the Berwick Chirstian Church.
He was a member of Berwick Christian Church and a member of the Eagle Hose # 2 where he was a volunteer fire fighter. He enjoyed fishing, playing miniature golf at Wolfey’s and playing baseball.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Charles H. McAfee, Jr, and siblings, Edna, Dallas, Nancy, Elizabeth “Sis”, and Fred.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 35 years Margaret E. (Leiby) McAfee; daughter Linda Larish and husband David; stepchildren, Matthew Smith and his wife Michele; Brenda Johnson and husband Norman, Mark Smith and his wife Joy; Brenae Devine and husband Carl; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Eli McAfee Sr and wife Lois; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Berwick Christian Church with his pastor Martin Coffey officiating.
