Mary M. (Adams) Eveland, age 95, of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Glen Brook Nursing Home, where she was a resident.
Born at home on December 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harry N. and Lillian E. (Sult) Adams. She was raised in the Knob Mountain area where she attended a one room schoolhouse.
Mary was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Berwick. She worked at several garment factories as a seamstress. After the birth of her son, she devoted her time to caring for him and helping him to exceed all expectations due to his disability. She loved tending to her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Thomas W. Eveland on May 1, 2020; and siblings, Eudora I. Kile, Helen M. Szczepanski, Betty A. Klinger, and Theodore N. Adams.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kathy M. Van Leuven and husband Lloyd of South Carolina; grandsons, Randy T. Van Leuven and Ryan D. Van Leuven of South Carolina.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Summerhill Cemetery, Berwick.
