Martin C. Jarmiolowski, age 83, of Sweet Valley, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2026, at his home.
Born in Rice Township on September 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lotti (Hilenski) Jarmiolowski. He attended St. Leo’s High School and Fairview High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1965. For many years, he worked at CertainTeed in Mountain Top.
Martin was a man who could always be counted on. Whether it was driving his grandchildren to appointments when they were young, taking small road trips just to keep someone company, helping friends with errands, or lending a hand with any task that needed doing, he never said no when someone asked for help. His quiet generosity and steady presence touched many lives.
He enjoyed the open road, the outdoors, and time spent with family and friends. He especially enjoyed sharing stories, laughter, and weekly dinners with longtime friends. He also carried a uniquely dry, quirky sense of humor — one he proudly passed on to his boys — bringing quiet laughter and unexpected one-liners to the people lucky enough to know him.
He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 781, Mountain Top.
He will be greatly missed by his sons, to whom he imparted that unique sense of humor: Mark Jarmiolowski, Mountain Top, PA; Todd Jarmiolowski, Scranton, PA; Eric Jarmiolowski and wife Beverly, Milton, VT; and by his grandchildren, Cara Jarmiolowski and fiancé Christian, Catasauqua, PA; Michael and Hannah Jarmiolowski, Richmond, VT.
He also leaves behind his brothers, Tom Jarmiolowski and wife Sally, Berwick, PA; Stanley Jarmiolowski and wife Julie, Phoenix, AZ; his sister, Beverly Goff, Berwick, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience.
Heller Funeral Home, LLC is assisting the family.
