Tyler E. Dawson, age 58, of Hobbie passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2026, at his home.
Born in Berwick on November 30, 1967, he was one of 6 children born to the late Thomas E. Sr. and Lenida A. (Yohey) Dawson. He was a graduate of Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School where he studied auto body repair. After graduation, Tyler worked at Strick Trailer and Chassis. Most recently, he was self employed as a heavy equipment operator. He did the excavation for home foundations and dug graves in several local cemeteries. He also fixed machinery of all types.
Tyler was a man of few words but had a heart of gold. He was the “handy man” of Hobbie, he would volunteer his time to help anyone with a project. He had a unique sense of humor and his one liners would make anyone laugh. He liked fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great nieces. He loved taking them on outings to different places and watching his nephew race.
He will be greatly missed by his brothers, Thomas Dawson, Jr and wife Twila, Wapwallopen; Terry Dawson, Sr and wife Deanna, Rome, PA; Timmy Dawson and wife Gloria, Berwick; Todd Dawson, and wife Julie, Va; sister, Laurie Fyock and companion Michael Scott, Hazleton; brother-in-law, Tim Fyock, Sr; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; several aunts; uncles; and many cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, June 15, 2026.
