Esther R. Mensinger, age 89, of Mifflinville passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
Born in Berwick on March 4, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Bruce W. and Dora A. (Sites) Powlus. She was educated at the Nescopeck High School. She worked at the former Campbells Soup Corporation, Lime Ridge, for nearly 30 years.
Esther was a member of Living Hope Community Church, Nescopeck. She enjoyed playing piano and singing. She spent every moment she could with her loving family and friends and loved her cats.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 72 years, Wayne L. Mensinger, Sr.; son, Wayne L. Mensinger, Jr. and wife JoAnn, Mifflinville; daughter, Linda J. Hutton, Elysburg; grandchildren, Amy L. Bauer and husband Jeffrey, Orangeville; Joseph M. Mensinger and wife Merhnoosh, Dallas, TX; Lauren E. Zmitrovich and husband, Brandon, Milton; great grandchildren, Carley Bauer and Jacob Bauer, Aubree Gensel, Samantha Zmitrovich, and Neekan Mensinger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Rollin Powlus, Irvin Powlus, Edna June Mayewski, and Betty Snedeker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus for the love and outstanding care they provided.
