Doris I. Jones, age 93, of Nescopeck passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing, Danville.
Born at home in Conyngham Valley on December 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Mabel (Uplinger) Balliet. She was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, where she was honored with valedictorian class of 1949. In her younger years, she was a bookkeeper for Sammys Poultry Market and later worked as a cashier for Glenn’s Market formerly known as Ray’s Market.
In 1953, she married her beloved husband, Paul. They spent 55 years together before his passing in 2008.
Doris was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Nescopeck for over 50 years. She was the financial secretary and was also a part of the membership and memorial committees. She was a former member of the Senior Circle and the Senior Center both of Berwick.
Doris loved her puzzle books and was a competitive card and board game player. She had the strongest faith and read her bible every day. She had a quick-witted sense of humor. She was devoted to her home and family; they meant the world to her.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Laurie Dalo and husband Tony, Auburn, Indiana; son, Shawn Jones and wife Angelic, Pottstown; grandchildren, Carrie Lupashinski, Anthony Dalo, Isabella Jones; and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul S. Jones, her daughter Paula Lupashinski; and son-in-law, John Lupashinski.

Private services for immediate family were held, and burial took place at Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck is entrusted with arrangements.
