Benjamin R. Miller, 78, of Nescopeck passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home.
Born in Berwick on March 13, 1944, he was a son of the late Benjamin R. and Viola E. (Ridall) Miller. He was raised and educated in Nescopeck. For over 20 years, Ben worked as an “over the road” truck driver. He later worked at Jack Williams and Steve Shannon’s Tires and most recently was a driver for Gallagher’s Transport in Berwick.
In his younger years, Ben liked building model cars and truck. As he got older his hobby became working on full size cars and trucks.
Ben recently completed his chemotherapy and radiation treatments for carcinoma. He was very proud to get his certificate of completion and ring the bell.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Ruth Ann (Winans) Miller, with whom he spent 49 years; daughters, Tammy Bankes, Berwick; Cathy Bedio and husband Mike, Shickshinny; Terri Ann Palmer and husband Ed, Shickshinny; stepdaughters, Laurie J Welch, NC; Tracie A Fenstemaker and husband Fred, Berwick; Audra R Wolford and husband Jeffrey, Berwick; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Miller; brothers, Gerald Miller and Edwin Ridall and sister, Nettie Hontz.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck, PA 18635 to help defray his final expenses.
