Iris S. Reinbold, age 87, of Scott Township passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Wapwallopen on September 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Maude B. (Travelpiece) Reinbold. She graduated from Newport High School, class of 1952. Iris continued her education at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her degree as a registered nurse in 1955. She served in the Air Force as an active-duty nurse from 1967 to 1969 and later worked at a VA Medical Center in New York from 1970 to 1994.
Iris enjoyed reading and traveling in her free time. She also liked playing the lottery and visiting casinos.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Reinbold, in September 2019.
She will be greatly missed by several cousins, including Kenneth and Denise Moyer, Wapwallopen, with whom she had a close relationship with.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Silver Maple Cemetery, Wapwallopen. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
