Mary P. “Meks” Kubasek, 96, of Mocanaqua peacefully entered into eternal life, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Allied Services Hospice Center.
Born in Mocanaqua, February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George M. Kubasek and Rose Kubasek O’Dell. She graduated from Shickshinny High School and worked in local factories retiring from Luzerne Outerwear. Mary was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and in her younger years was active in the former Ascension Church choir and Altar and Rosary Society.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother Edward Kubasek, sister-in-law Dorothy Kubasek Skalla, and dear friends Malvina Conrad and Ann Domagala. Because of this friendship, Meks was affectionately adopted into the Malitoris family of Mocanaqua.
Mary will be missed by her loving care givers Marion Hidlay and Margaret Ann Benson, five godchildren, including Joseph Sterbinsky, friends, and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 28 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary Church, Mocanaqua, with the Rev. Louis Kaminski, her pastor, officiating. Private interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
