“Talk to Clint!” is a phrase you’d say or hear around Clint Evernham. Wanted to know how to bowl a strike? Talk to Clint. Wanted to know how to throw a curve ball. Talk to Clint. Need to know what that “clunk grind clunk” sound was on your car? Talk to Clint. He could help and he would explain every step of the way. As he got older, he couldn’t do it himself but that didn’t stop him from sharing his knowledge of how and supervising the job.
You’d easily find him from his birth of September 12, 1946 in Trenton,NJ to his death on November 7, 2023, at Geisinger, Danville,PA ready to share a lesson of life to someone younger. A “dad” to all. You’d often hear tips of bowling, baseball/softball, playing pool, or best ways to fix something, especially the car. You could ask him anything. He was a jack of all trades and a master of multiple.
As a child and teen, he spent years in the newspaper with headlines of “greatest pitcher” on Morrisville baseball teams or “best series” on the Morrisville bowling teams. Later serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War with his specialty in plumbing. Eventually he landed his match, Wendy (Fisher) Evernham and were married in 1980. Together for 49 years, they were by each other’s side for years. They would often be found coaching t-ball, softball, and he often found himself supporting his wife and daughter through Girl Scouts and cheerleading events and projects. He came to expect leftovers for lunch delivered at work by his wife and daughter, Kimberly, and every coworker took time to joke as they saw it coming. Even customers at AutoZone were sent to him. “Talk to Clint” He was the man to ask.
As a hard worker, always holding multiple jobs, he didn’t get much free time until retiring in 2012, when he was able to spend most of his free days enjoying watching police chases, listening to the scanner, road trips to anywhere, annual trips to Seaside, New Jersey with family, playing board games with his grandchildren, and the Halloween party tradition as a good sport sidekick to Wendy’s creativity. (His last costume was a Smurf!)
He is preceded in death by his parents Margaret (McCrane) and George Evernham. He will be greatly missed by his Wife, Wendy of Nescopeck,PA; daughter, Kimberly Boyd (Matthew) of Lexington, KY; step-daughter, Rachael Ditmar (Ted) of Sellersville,PA; three grandchildren, Aidan, Lexi, and Michelle; and brother-in-law, Richard Fisher of Drums,PA.
