Chris A. Snyder, age 64, of State College and formerly of Mifflinville, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born in Berwick on February 5, 1959, she was a daughter of Reba M. (Diehl) Traugh of Mifflinville, and the late Clarence “Hutch” H. Traugh. She graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1977 and continued her education at Williamsport Area Community College where she earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology in 1980. She worked at Devine Providence Medical Center where she cross trained in radiology oncology. She eventually went on to work at Mount Nittany Medical Center as the section head of radiation-oncology. She has been semi-retired since 2006.
She was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Mifflinville. She liked to travel with her husband. They visited places in Europe and other areas in the states. Her favorite place was Rehoboth Beach, where she did the Polar Bear plunge in February.
In addition to her mother, she will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 35 years, John Snyder; daughter, Emily Snyder, State College; a brother, “Hutch” A. Traugh and wife Angela, Mifflinville; sister, Carla M. Cilea and husband Steve, SanAntonio TX; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024, at St John’s Lutheran Church, East Fifth Street, Mifflinville with Reverend Daniel Warntz officiating. Interment will follow in Mifflinville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
