Willard E. Moyer, age 80 of Berwick passed away on April 5, 2024, with his family and his cat “Theo” by his side.
Born in Hobbie on February 7, 1944, he was a son of the late Emerson A. and Beatrice E. (Hoch) Moyer. He was a graduate of Nescopeck High School, class of 1962, and served honorably in the Army National Guard for 6 years. For many years, he helped on the family farm. In 2009, he retired from Consolidated Container, formerly known as Liquitane and Bercon Packaging, where he worked for over 46 years.
Willard liked watching NASCAR, college football, and old western movies. He also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and doing yard work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Jane (Hess) Moyer who died January 28, 2003; his brother, Monroe Moyer; and brother-in-law, Cletus Bower.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Beth Ann Turowski and husband Matthew, Nescopeck Twp.; grandchildren, Courtney and Brendan Turowski; sisters, Arlene Bower, Hobbie; Nellie Moyer, Berwick; brother, Fred Moyer and wife Lynn, Berwick; sister-in-law, Eleanor Moyer, North Wales, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. At Willard’s request, there will be no services.
