Linda S. Fields, age 77, of Nescopeck passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Williamsport on September 20, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Marylinn (Trexler) Henry. She was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, class of 1965. She married her husband, the late Reverend Fred J. Fields, on August 14, 1965, and together they raised 2 children. Linda was a dedicated wife, who supported her husband in his career and a devoted mother who worked hard to provide a loving home for her family. As her family grew, and she became a grandmother, she embraced the duties and joy that came along with her title as “Grammie” and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda was attending Wesley United Methodist Church, Nescopeck. She was a member of Flemington United Methodist Church, Lock Haven, where she was previously active in several church functions and organizations. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, and knitting.
She will be greatly missed by a son, Fred J. Fields II and wife Dorothy; daughter, Meghan L. Stroud; grandchildren, Cody Fields; Israel Stroud and Byron Robert Conner Stroud. She also leaves behind sisters, Carole Laubach and husband Bob; Karen Folmer and husband Bob; brother-in-law, Steve Hendershot; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband Fred, who passed away in 2014, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Micah Stroud; brother, Harold V. Henry and wife Carol; and sister, Valerie Hendershot.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
