Myrtle E. Ranck

Myrtle E. Ranck, 87, of Ephrata, PA, originally from rural Nescopeck, PA, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2024.

She was born in Dewart, PA, on September 19, 1936, daughter of the late William A. and Martha L. Sechler, of Watsontown, PA, and graduated from Watsontown High School. She was the wife of the late Ned Ranck.

Myrtle’s life was filled with love and dedication. She was a homemaker, worked part-time for Morris’s Restaurant, and spent countless hours baking pies with her daughter Cindy for over 30 years. Her leisure time was often dedicated to quilting and crocheting, where she crafted several quilts and Afghans for family members.

She will be greatly missed by two children: David W. and wife Judy of Ephrata, PA; Cynthia Harman and husband Charles of Nescopeck, PA; four grandchildren: Nikkia Harman, Stacy Oplinger, Adam Ranck, and Ashley Jackson; as well as six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Bessie Bush of Watsontown, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Betty Wilver, and two brothers, Paul Sechler and William Sechler.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on July 13, 2024, at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ (Briggsville) 150 Church Road, Nescopeck. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck is entrusted with arrangements.
