Gail B. Amendola-Trefsger, age 79, of Mifflinville passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 13, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Vivian (Feldman) Amendola. She was a graduate of Midwood High School, Brooklyn, NY, class of 1963. For over 30 years, Gail was employed at Geisinger Medical Center and later, she worked at the Area Agency on Aging.
Above all, Gail loved her family and spending time with them. She loved angels and you could find one in every room of her house. She also liked fishing, dancing and carnivals. She elevated everyone’s mood around her with her comical personality.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Ronald Trefsger, with whom she shared the last 40 years; daughter, Lisa Black Majewski and husband Stanley, NY; son, Charles Black Jr, Coal Twp; stepdaughters, Rachael Hettinger and husband Scott, Phoenixville; Michelle Brinkash and husband Mark, Riverside; Nicole Trefsger and fiancé Ray Applegate, Buckhorn; grandchildren, Charles Black III; Paul Black; Kelley O’Neil; James O’Neil; Jonas and Lucy Brinkash; Charles and Nathan Hettinger; and great grandson, Levi; sisters, Arline Cersham and Paula Yorke, both of NY; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her best friend, Evelyn Randello; and her loving caretakers, Sharon Bachman and Margaret Roberts.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, aides, and staff of Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of her family. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is entrusted with arrangements.
