William G. Weeks

William G. Weeks, age 92, of Hobbie passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Mountaintop Rehab and Health Care.

Born in Freeland, PA on September 5, 1932, he was a son of the late William H. and Ida R. (Horn) Weeks. Bill attended West Hazleton High School. He served in the U. S. Army with the 353rd Communication Recon Company during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he worked for Dorr-Oliver in Hazleton, retiring in 1994. He also was an owner of Weeks Pools until 1979.

He served on the zoning board and was a Justice of the Peace in Butler Township prior to moving to Hobbie in 1983. He was a member of the American legion Post 795, Drums where he was past commander and adjutant, a member of Hazle Azalea Fellowship Lodge 327, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg. Bill was a life member of the NRA and a member of the Nescopeck Hunting and Rifle Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Canada. He was a member of St James Lutheran Church, Hobbie, where he served on council for several years.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary (Guastavino) Jensen Weeks; children, Gerald Weeks and wife Debra, Dillsburg; Robert Weeks and wife Jacinta, Drums; Debra Benedict and partner Shawn McAleenan, New Smyrna, FL; stepchildren; John Jensen and wife Donna, Wapwallopen; Richard Jensen and wife, Diane, Nescopeck; Daniel Jensen and wife Cindy, Wapwallopen; Linda Jerrard and husband Harry, Nescopeck; Andrew Jensen and wife Tiffany, Wapwallopen; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Baron Weeks and companion Elaine Willard, Millville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his daughter Kimberly Iasimone.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday October 4, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church, 827 E County Rd, Wapwallopen, with his pastor, Reverend Oliver Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
