Caregiver devoted to family
Margaret Powlus, 96, of Nescopeck passed away on November 13, 2024, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg, PA.
She was born on February 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Gaydosh) Robsock. Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She regularly spent time in prayer and studied God’s word. She was especially proud of her Slovakian heritage and enjoyed making pierogi, haluski and halupki. Her hobbies included reading, sewing and canning. Saturday evenings were strictly devoted to Polka Time. Margaret cherished staying at home and caring for her family. When her children were grown she worked for many years as a caregiver, performing her duties with much pride and dedication.
Margaret is survived by her son Gary, wife Terry; brother, Thomas Robsock, wife Flavia; Susan Powlus, wife of son, Ron.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Michael Powlus, wife Jen; Roger Nunkester, wife Maria; Christine Powlus; Ronald Powlus Jr, wife Sara; great- grandchildren include Lia, Mya, Ronnie III, Tommy, Max McCabe, and Kristen Arner.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Charles of twenty-eight years, son Ron, daughter Dottie as well as three brothers: George, Charles and Frank Robsock: sister Betty Shuman; three half brothers: Joseph, John and Mike Barvinchak; and two half-sisters; Helen Lipovsky and Julia Terry.
The family would like to thank Bonham’s Nursing Home and 3rd Floor Med/Surg at Geisinger for the wonderful care provided to Margaret during the last several months.
Private services will be held at Margarets request.
