Virginia H. Reynolds, 85, formerly of Catawissa, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she had resided for the past 5 years.
Born in Philadelphia on September 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Sarah Anne (Harlow) Levan. She was a graduate of Catawissa High School. She was a professional woman who took a great deal of pride in completing her work as an executive secretary at Merck Pharmaceutical, Danville for 40 years, where she formed strong connections with her co-workers and supervisors.
Virginia was an active member of Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catawissa, where she was a lay minister, and played a large role in organizing church dinners. She was a woman with a strong faith, and was always there to give care and comfort to those in need. She was a member of a quilting circle where she participated in making quilts for the needy. One of her favorite pass-times was painting ceramics. She made many items over the years which she enjoyed giving as gifts to family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers, Jim Levan and wife Ruth, Yardley, PA, Earl Levan, Wellington, KS; brother-in-law, Joseph Tancini, New Hope; and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dear friend and companion, Richard Sober, Catawissa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Reynolds in 2002; sister, Jean Tancini; and sister-in-law, Virginia Levan.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on January 8, 2016 in Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 116 Church Street, Catawissa. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
