David W. Ungemach, age 78, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2025, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehab, Danville.
Born in Berwick on May 14, 1947, he was a son of the late William and Lena “Rosebud” (Golder) Ungemach. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1965 and continued his education at Dyke College of Business, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. After graduating, he worked for the family business, Yeager Wire Works. He eventually took ownership of the company which manufactured display racks. They were also involved in making parts for Alaska stoves. As a hobby, David and a friend made golf clubs for their company, Scott II.
David was a lifetime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Berwick, where he was a member of the finance committee. Playing golf was his passion. He was a member of the Berwick Golf Club and played in the Thursday night golf league. He enjoyed working outside around the house and he was a Cleveland Brown’s fan.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Marilee (Heller) Ungemach; son, Scott D. Ungemach, DC and wife Tracey of Sugarloaf; grandson, Ethan Ungemach; brother, Robert Ungemach and wife Marilyn, Berwick; sister, Patricia Landry, York; sister-in-law, Debra Sutton and husband Kenneth, Maine; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Landry.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
