Oma “Virginia” Jenkins, age 103, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Gardens at Millville where she was residing.
Born in Dyersburg, TN on March 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Rube and Amanda (Maxwell) Maynard. Virginia worked and retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St Stanislaus Nursing home in Nanticoke. She previously worked at Davis and Arndt Florists in Berwick.
She was a member of the former Pine Street Baptist Church, Berwick.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell H. Jenkins; a son, Ed Rice; sister, Winnie Petty; infant sister, Mary Maynard; and brothers, James “Tom” Maynard; and Raymond Maynard who died in WWII.
Her legacy will be continued by her son, James V. Rice, Danville; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Hall.
Interment in Rose Lawn Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
