Shirley E. Bailey, 88, of Berwick passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village I surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 17, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Slusser) Eshelman. She graduated from Berwick High School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Berwick. She had worked as a clerk for Seely’s Office Outfitters for many years.
Shirley was a member of the Eastern Star, and was very involved with her church and held several positons over her lifetime including Deacon. In her free time, she loved spending time with and raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are son, Willard Bailey, Berwick; daughter-in-laws, Ann Cary and Barbara DeWitt McHenry; grandchildren, Wendy Eveland, Jason Bailey, and Jeffery Bailey; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kendra, and Ashley Bailey and Samantha Eveland; sisters, Marian Thomas and Sara Zenzel, both of Berwick; and her dog, Champ.
Preceding her in death is husband, Willard Henry Bailey, Jr.; son, Douglas Richard Bailey; sisters, Janet Blatherwick, Isabelle Heckman, and Dorothy Eshelman; and brothers, Charles, Harold, James, and David Eshelman.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, with Rev. Darlene Little officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
