Elmer L. “Dick” Hopper, 79, of Berwick passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Orangeville Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Bloomsburg on September 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Donald Richard and June Gertrude (Larish) Hopper. Dick served in the US Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. After an honorable discharge, he was employed at Synthane Taylor as a supervisor, and most recently worked at Dorma Door Manufacturing.
Dick was a member of the VFW Post 804, Bloomburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of over 25 years, Jane E. (Dixon) Hopper; son, Gary Hopper; daughters, Dori Bloom and Tammy Hopper; step-children, Denise Friebus and husband Paul, Michele Schrader, and Donald Hopper; 4 grandchildren, Sean, Harleigh, Ashlee, Shannon; and great granddaughter, Alexandria. He is also survived by a sister, Judy Hopper; brothers, Terry Hopper and wife Dot, Bobby Hopper and wife Jane, Jerry Hopper; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Kim Marosek; and sisters, Pauline Herring and Gloria Hopper.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Inurnment will follow in Creveling Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
