Leatha J. (Stout) Benscoter Capece, 79, of Nescopeck passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village II, where she was a patient since May.
Born on July 17, 1937 in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Rhoda (Whitmoyer) and Forrest Stout, Sr. She graduated from Nescopeck High School in 1955, and was employed at several local businesses including Fulton Lamp Factory and Bercon Industries.
Leatha spent her entire life living in Nescopeck and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s IBVM Catholic Church in Berwick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Benscoter, second husband, Michael Capece; son, Timothy Benscoter; brothers, Edmund Stout, Forrest Stout, Jr; and sister, Doris Howard.
She will be greatly missed by her son, John Benscoter; daughter, Nicole Fairchild and husband Jason; grandchildren, Anthony Melito III, Maximilian Melito, and William Fairchild whom she loved watching play sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Mary’s Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 AM until services begin.
