Calvin F. Zimmerman,
 81, of Fishing Creek Township passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Millville Nursing Center, where he had been a patient for the past several weeks.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Isaac and Dorothy M. (Raup) Zimmerman, and was a graduate of Catawissa High School. Over the years, he was employed at Letterman Bakery, Bloomsburg, Kennedy VanSaun, Danville, Milco Industries, Bloomsburg and Jack’s Garage, Bloomsburg. He also worked as a carpenter, helping others with home renovations.

Cal was a huge Southern Columbia football fan, and liked watching the Pittsburg Steelers. He loved old cars, especially his El Camino, and going to car shows. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was proud of his family, and relished any time he could watch his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also took pleasure in going out to eat and taking rides in the countryside with his wife.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Carolyn “Butch” (Fenstermacher) Zimmerman, with whom he would have celebrated a 61st anniversary on September 6th; daughters, Sandy Mayernick and husband Randy; Holly Latsha and husband Kenny, all of Catawissa; grandsons, Scott, Eric, Shaun, Ryan and Cody; great grandchildren, Maya, Hailee, Dylan, Keishaun, Kayla, Alexis, Chase, Gabby, and Cody, Jr.; and step great-grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, and Ashton. He also leaves behind sisters-in-law, Linda Zimmerman of Brookside Village, Ruth Zimmerman, OK, and Sally Zimmerman, TX; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Zimmerman, June 16, 2016; and brothers, Jay Zimmerman, Carlton Zimmerman and Robert Zimmerman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, with Pastor Mike Delp officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until the service begins.
