Stella Edna Louise (Manning) Puher
, 91, of Berwick passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2015 at her home on Ferris Avenue, where she had resided since 1951. Born in Berwick on December 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late

Russel and Dora (Mausteller) Manning. She was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1941. Stella worked for Wise Potato Chips for many years, then at Consolidated Cigar, retiring in 1985. After retirement she worked for Pen Col Dairy Store until she was in her 70’s.

Stella was a member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Berwick. She enjoyed life and spending time with friends and family. She was an excellent mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Patti Puher Bower and husband Scott, Berwick; son, John R. Puher and wife Thea, Proctorville, OH; cherished grandchildren, Yvonne Puher Allen, Diane Puher Mannon and husband Kenny, Michael Puher and wife Janet, Cathy Puher Carroll, Mark Puher, Christopher Puher and wife Amy, Michael Bower and Matthew Bower; as well as, 11 adored great grandchildren and 5 treasured great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Russel “Jack” Manning, Ralph Manning and wife Ruth, all of Nescopeck; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Puher Leonardo, Jermyn, PA, and Hellen Manning, Sayre, PA; brother-in-law, Titus Lechlitner, Berwick; and many nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Puher in 2005; sister, Betty Lechlitner; and brothers, Herbert and David Manning.

A Parastas service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, followed by a viewing until 8:00 PM. On Saturday, November 14, 2015, a procession will leave Heller Funeral Home at 9:30 AM for the Funeral Service which will be held at 10:00 AM, at Ss Cyril & Methodius Church, Berwick. Interment will follow in Ss Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stella’s memory to St Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 706 N. Warren St, Berwick, PA 18603.
