Roy K. Snow, Jr, 89, of Slocum Township, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his home.
Born in Winchendon, MA on September 15, 1926, he was the son of the late Agnes M (Tait) and Roy K. Snow, Sr. He was raised and graduated from school in Winchendon. He was employed as a canteen officer for many years at several Veterans Hospitals in the New England states, as well as Wilkes-Barre. After which, he worked as a cook at Wyoming Valley West High School, and after retirement, drove a school bus for Rinehimer Bus Lines for several years.
Roy was a former member of the Slocum Township Volunteer Fire Co. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was also a fan of many sports, but rooted for the NY Giants, and the Boston Red Sox.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barbara A. (Bonhoff) Snow, who passed away on August 26, 2008; and sisters, Shirley Ziska and Hazle Snyder.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Linda Arnold and husband Duane, Dorrance Twp, Gail Grosz and husband William, Slocum Twp; son, David Snow and wife Stephanie; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A celebration of life service and sharing of memories will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Slocum Township Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roy’s memory to the Slocum Township Volunteer Fire Company, 1923 Slocum Road, Wapwallopen, PA 18660.
