She lived her entire life in Benton, until she moved to the Tenny Street Apartments in 2008. She grew to love her life there, and she was extremely loved by the other residents.

Flo became a member of the Benton Christian Church at 12 years old. In her adult life, however, she attended and was very active in the Waller United Methodist Church. After relocating to Bloomsburg, she attended and was involved in the Ridge Street United Methodist Church. In her early years, she enjoyed dancing at the Isaac Walton barn, and was a participant in community plays. After the death of her husband, she eventually was privileged to travel not only around the U.S., but to other countries as well. Her passion for growing indoor plants and her garden remained until the very end of her life. She was a member of the Benton Garden Club and the Red Hatters, and very dedicated to Bible Study groups. She was 100% faithful to her parents until their death, and a loving and committed wife and mother.

Flo graduated from Benton High School in 1936. In her early years she waitressed at the Benton Hotel Moses VanCampon. For many years, she was a sewing machine operator at Dockey’s Shirt Factory until its closing, and then continued employment with Milco Industries, until her retirement. She was a perfectionist with a needle and thread, including crocheting, knitting, tatting, embroidering, quilting and sewing with her treasured machine.

She married Edward F. Roth on June 13, 1939, to whom she was married for 34 years before his passing in 1973. They were the parents of Kathleen Antionette Mutchler, who died October 11, 2014, and Edward Thomas Roth who died on July 14, 2005.

She is survived by her son, Leslie Craig Roth and his wife Linda, Factoryville; daughters: Pam Sommers and husband Bob, Bloomsburg; and Penny Knorr, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Lorie Kay (Mutchler) Sands and husband Joseph; DuWayne Parker Mutchler; Peggy (Roth) Benninger and husband John; Michael, Curtis, and Mantle Roth; Justin Roth and wife Michelle; Shanna (Roth) Pelka and husband Jerry; Scott David and Brad Edward Sommers; Brook Lorraine (Knorr) Mahboub and husband Zak; and Stephen Cale Knorr; great grandchildren: Jennifer and Ashley Sands, Jocelyn and Joshua Mutchler, Tara, Ashley and John Benninger, Sam Pelka, Amza and Adam Mahboub; several great-great grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Laurel Mutchler.

She was very generous to her children and the greatest gift she has ever given is the peace and assurance that those of us who are born again will be united with her in the first resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:16). We will see her again. At Flo’s request there will be no viewing or funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Area Agency on Aging, 702 Sawmill Road, Suite 201, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
