Marvin H. Eroh

Marvin H. Eroh, 91, of Dorrance Township passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016, under the care of Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre, following a brief illness.

Born on June 26, 1924, he was the son of the late Raymond and Martha (Eckrote) Eroh. He was raised and attended school in Dorrance Township. He served honorably in the US Army during WWII, and was employed at Wise Potato Chips, Berwick for 23 years, before retiring in 1988.

Marvin was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hobbie. He enjoyed hunting and gardening. In his younger years followed baseball and liked attending “Phillies” games.

He will be greatly missed by his sons, Marvin A. Eroh, and Richard Eroh, both of Dorrance Twp.; grandchildren, Raymond C. Eroh and wife Chris, and Brian Eroh and wife Michele; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Doris R. (Shortz) Eroh in 2013, and 2 brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 827 East County Road, Wapwallopen with his pastor, Rev. Oliver Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 3rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.
