Lynda Joy Saia


Lynda Joy Saia, 
59, of Salem Township passed away on Friday, March 5, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family and loyal companions “Prince” and “Vinnie”.

Born in Kingston, PA on March 27, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Judee Joy McKenzie and Wesley Broody. She attended Hammaton High School in New Jersey. Lynda was employed at various financial institutions throughout her career, including Ocean City Home Banking in New Jersey, where she was a vice president. Most recently she worked at Members Trust Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach.

Lynda was a member of Hope Lutheran Church while living in Virginia Beach, and after moving to the Berwick Area, was attending Berwick Assembly of God. She was active with various community organizations in New Jersey, and volunteered for “Listening Ears” in Virginia Beach, a program for children with learning disabilities. She was involved, as a model, for the “Look Good, Feel Better” program for cancer patients.

Lynda spent time in the sunshine while boating, swimming and taking nature walks. She also enjoyed shopping. Her greatest love was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 43 years, Peter Anthony Saia, Sr; son, Peter A. Saia, Jr and companion Edie White, Berwick; daughter, Judee Joy Montero and husband Jason, Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Emma Joy and Preston Joseph. She also leaves behind her “daddy” Stephen Worrall, Las Vegas; aunts and uncles, Sandy and Bill Asimos, Joanne and Bill McKensie, Jeff McKensie; cousins, Suzanne Hontz and husband Robert, and George Broody Jr, all of Berwick.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Anthony Broody, from Dallas, PA; as well as several close aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Berwick Assembly of God, 801 East Fifth Street, Berwick, with Pastor Stephen Potutschnig officiating. Family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
