Marjorie D. Milheim, 87, of Berwick passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village, where she had been residing for over 5 years.
Born in Berwick on July 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Lucy Bell (Fisher) Remaley. She was a graduate of Mifflinville High School, class of 1946. She was employed at Mifflin Knitting Mill, and Levan’s Grocery Store, Mifflinville. She also babysat for several neighborhood families.
Marge was a member of Mifflinville United Church of Christ, and volunteered her help with the Girl Scouts. In high school, she played for the girls’ basketball team. As an adult she enjoyed reading, collecting newspapers, and dining out. She loved having long talks with her family and friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin F. Milheim in 2001; and her daughter, Deb Conrad in 2006.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters: Janet Kroening, Berwick; Linda Wydra, Wapwallopen; 8 Grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and brother, Thomas A. Remaley and wife Rose, Florida.
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in Mifflinville Cemetery with her pastor, Reverend John Bondhus officiating. Anyone attending is asked to meet at the cemetery.
