Caroline Strunk Andreas, 89, of Conyngham Township passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home.
Raised in Slocum Township, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Smith) Strunk. She graduated from Newport Township High School and later from College Misericordia. She taught English at Greater Nanticoke Area Schools for 25 years. After retirement she became active in her church, and the Senior Citizen’s Organization.
She was an active member of St. Mark’s Reform Church, Pond Hill until her health declined. She loved to read and had many hobbies, including genealogy. She enjoyed sharing information about family history, and encouraged and helped others to find their ancestors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Andreas; and half-sister, Mrs. Harry (Althea) Moyer.
She will be greatly missed by her children: daughter, Susan Posey and husband Ivan; son, Thomas Andreas; daughter, Kay Long; grandchildren, Lee and Andrew Posey, Matthew Andreas, Daniel, Carl and Susan Long; and 6 great grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, a private funeral service was held at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck. Interment was in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick.
