Lois Mae (Whitebread) Soberick


Lois Mae (Whitebread) Soberick,
 65, of Berwick passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at her home, after losing her fight with cancer.

Born in Berwick on March 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Irene “Getha” (Hoch) Whitebread. She graduated 3rd in her class from Berwick High School in 1969 and attended Luzerne County Commity College. She co-owned the Big B Restaurant with her husband, and was an administrator at Cora’s Flowers.

Lois was a member of First Baptist Church, Berwick, where she held the position of financial secretary, was on the board and council, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Berwick Hospital Auxiliary Board. She enjoyed crafts and puzzles. She helped with the boulevard every Christmas. She paid meticulous attention to the details in everything she did.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 47 years, William M. “Bill” Soberick; loving daughters, Kim Soberick, Tybee Island, GA; Kristi Soberick, Berwick; Kellie Soberick-Eyer and husband Jeff, Berwick; Karen (Soberick) Daddio and husband Mike, Berwick; as well as her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Mitchell, Anthony, Mia, Graycen and Giavanna. She also leaves behind sisters, Judy Miller, Hobbie; Betty Rinehimer and husband George, Hobbie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 224 West Front Street, Berwick, with Rev. Dr. Charles Jensen officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.
