Jeffrey Scott Zimmerman, 57, of Fishing Creek Township passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Orangeville Nursing and Rehab, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Born in Bloomsburg on September 25, 1958, he was the son of Calvin F. and Carolyn “Butch” (Fenstermacher) Zimmerman of Stillwater. He attended Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech. Jeff worked as a welder out of state and in Pennsylvania, most recently at Strick Welding, Berwick, before becoming ill.
Jeff volunteered at the Animal Resource Center, Bloomsburg. He was a member of several car clubs. He enjoyed fishing, and working on vehicles, monster trucks and the 4-Wheel Jamboree. He liked taking pictures of sunsets. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and rooted for Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Jr. He cherished any time he could spend with his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Jeff will be greatly missed by sons, Shaun and wife Bri; Ryan and wife Stacey; Cody and companion Desiree; grandchildren, Dylan, Kayla, Keshaun, Alexis, Chase, Cody Jr., and Gabrielle; step-grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, and Ashton, all of Danville. He also leaves behind sisters, Sandy Mayernick and husband Randy; Holly Latsha and husband Kenny, all of Catawissa; 3 nieces; and his four legged best friend, Gus, who was always by his side.
He was preceded in death by grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heller Funeral Home, LLC to help defray Jeff’s final expenses.
