Doyle E. “Sonny” Readler, Jr.,
 82, of Nescopeck passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Berwick Retirement Village, where he was a patient since Monday.

Born in Hollenback Township on February 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Edith (Houser) and Doyle Readler, Sr. He attended the Greenwood One-Room School House, Dorrance, and honorably served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958. He was employed at Berwick Ribbon Factory, which became Berwick Offray, for 30 years.

Sonny was a life member of Nescopeck Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a past president for 25 years. He was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church, Nescopeck. He loved flea markets, carnivals, Chinese auctions, and yard sales. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Lillian L. (Hummel) Readler; daughter, Debbie Readler and companion Bill Smith, Nescopeck; son, Kevin Readler and wife Marce, Hobbie; 4 grandchildren, Jamine Readler and wife Cheryl, Drums; Joshua Readler and wife Nicole, Hobbie; Brionna Readler and companion Adam, Mifflinville; Madison Readler, Hobbie; and 3 great grandchildren, Ali, Seth and Alexandria Readler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy; and brother Clifford Readler. He was the last member of his immediate family.

At Sonny’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
