David D. Rozell, 71, of Berwick passed away on Monday morning, September 2, 2016, at Berwick Hospital Center.
Born in Hampton, NY on June 18, 1945, he was the son of the late Barlow J. and Lillian M. (Hewitt) Rozell. He was raised and educated in upstate New York, and served in US Army from 1965 to 1967. David worked at Consolidated Cigar, Berwick for many years, and retired from Eagles Janitorial, Williamsport.
He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness, Kingdom Hall, Mifflinville. He was well known in the Berwick area for his amazing talent of free-hand sign painting, which he often used to create signs for the boulevard, as well as other places. He also enjoyed wood crafts and made items which he often gave to others as gifts.
David will be greatly missed by his wife of 16 years, Donna “Fay” (Yorks) Rozell; son, Scott Rozell and wife Becky of Plains; step-sons, Michael A. Schwab and wife Becky; Christopher J. Schwab and wife LaDonna, all of Berwick; grandchildren, Taylor, Trisha, and Tori Rozell, Max and Poviel Vosburg, and Jashen McKenzie; great-grandson, Taylor Rozell, Jr.; sister, Betty Constanine, Grandville, NY; brothers, Richard Rozell, Argyle, NY, Phillip Rozell and wife Carol, Vero Beach, FL; Clarence Rozell and wife Dorris; Fred Rozell and wife Debbie, all of Middle Granville, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory D. Rozell; sisters, Marianne Rozell, Janice Pounsheek, and Shirley Jarrosak; and brothers, Charlie, Tommy, Barlow, Bobby, and Eddy Rozell.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, with Pastor David Wise officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
