Etta “Betty” Elizabeth (Pliscott) Good, 92, of Nescopeck, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village I.
Born September 5, 1924 in Slocum Township, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Margaret Mary (Myers) Pliscott. Betty was raised in the Slocum area and graduated from Newport Township High School. She was co-owner of Bon Homme Shirt Factory, Berwick along with her husband, and had worked as a seamstress at Berwick Shirt Factory.
She had been a member of First United Church of Christ where she was active with the choir and consistory. She enjoyed shopping and travelling with her friends, visiting farm markets, and had worked hard at providing a loving home for her husband and daughter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Nevin Lee Good, in 2001; brothers, Al Pliscott, Edward “Bud” Pliscott, and James Pliscott; a sister in infancy; and sister-in-law, Joan Berlin.
She is survived by daughter, Lesa K. Good-Tigue and husband John of Nescopeck; brothers, Harold Pleiscott and wife Judy of Wapwallopen; Dale Pliscott and wife Jeannie of Wapwallopen; sisters, Ella Thomas of Berwick; Barbara Kessler and husband Arden of Hunlock Creek; brothers-in-law, Robert Good and Dave Berlin; and several nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at First United Church of Christ, 832 3rd Street, Nescopeck at 11:00 AM with her pastor Richard Dennison officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Heller Funeral Home, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, and Wednesday at the church from 10:00 until time of service.
