Jerome “Jerry” Golomb, 79, of Salem Township passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at his home.
Born at home in Salem Township on June 30, 1937, he was a son of the late Theodore A. and Sophia A. (Sutcavage) Golomb. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1955 and served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. After being honorably discharged, he attended the State Police Academy, and was employed as a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 35 years.
Jerry was a former member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He liked hunting and was a former member of the Ridge Runners Hunting Club. He loved spending time with his family. He also owned several rental properties in the area, which he enjoyed maintaining.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith “Judy” A. (Ridall) Golomb; daughters, Kimberly Tokar and husband Jack; Michele Kline and husband Dennis, all of Nescopeck; son, Shawn Golomb and wife Colleen, Berwick; grandchildren, Kiersten, Kaitlin, Kelsey, and Megan; great grandson, Owen; brother, Francis Golomb and wife Joyce, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Golomb; and brothers, Timothy and Charles Golomb.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck with Reverend Francis Tamburro officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
