Bruno Federicci

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bruno Federicci,92, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Guardian Elder Care in Nanticoke where he was a resident for the last 2 years.

Born on October 3, 1924, he was a son of the late Tobias and Maryanne Federicci. Bruno resided in Mocanaqua his entire life. After school, Bruno served honorably in the US Navy during WWII where he received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat. Bruno was employed at Country Cousins Shoes, Mocanaqua, retiring after many years.

Bruno was a member of Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary’s, Mocanaqua. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and belonged to the Mocanaqua Sporting Club. He was a member of the Polish Falcons, the VFW Post 6434, Mocanaqua and American Legion Post 495, Shickshinny. He took pride in his vegetable garden and liked working on his friends’ farm. He looked forward to meeting his friends for their weekly card games. Bruno enjoyed the simple things in life, and loved his home and family.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 69 years, Flora (Cicerchia) Federicci; daughter, Norene Alber and husband Carl; grandchildren, Carla Alber and fiancé Cole Rupert, Eric Alber and wife Amanda; great grandchildren, Harlee, Evan, Ari, Vincent and Gino; sister-in-law, Clara Federicci; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Sheldon; brothers, Aldo, Americo, Geno and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary’s Church, 150 Main St, Mocanaqua, with Rev. Louis Kaminski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until Noon at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.

Flowers will be provided by the family.

Bruno will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Forever in our hearts.
