Shirley J. Yorks, 90, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Providence Place, Drums where she had been residing for the past 2 years.
Born in Berwick on August 16, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Ralph M. and Dorothy (Dietterick) Johnson, and was a graduate of Berwick High School. She was a homemaker who worked hard to provide a loving home for her children.
Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, as well as, Eastern Star, the Berwick Historical Society and the Elks, Berwick. She was also an avid bridge player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ray Yorks; brother, Dr. Ralph “Junior” Johnson; and sister, Kathryn Seybert.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Bonnie Shaw, Clermont, FL; son, J. Christopher Yorks, Hong Kong; 4 granddaughters; and 3 great grandsons.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
