Betty Jane Comstock, 84, of Bloomsburg passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Berwick Retirement Village.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 24, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Jay and Mae (Jumper) Hirleman. She graduated from high school in Thomaston, Connecticut. Betty was a homemaker who worked hard to provide a loving home for her family.
Most recently, Betty attended Lime Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star #110, Plainville, CT. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. She also liked crocheting, making many items she often gave to others as gifts.
She will be greatly missed by her children: sons, William Comstock and wife Pam, Benton; Howard “Pete” Comstock, Bloomsburg; daughters, Susan Comstock Sweitzer, Virginia; Rebecca Findsen and husband David, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sister, Dora Carey of Thomaston, CT.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Carey; and brothers, Thomas and Robert Hirleman.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck with Chaplain Michael Delp officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
