Julia Susan (Balazs) Laux, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 22, 2017, at the age of 89.
Born in Berwick on July 11, 1927, she was the youngest of 16 children born to Anna and Stephan Balazs. Julia attended Berwick area schools and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Berwick. For many years she was the “cookie baker” for the Berwick Bulldog Booster Club, various fundraisers, many friends and family.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 32 years, Francis (Frank) Laux and a son, John (Dutch) Wagner. Julia was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a son, Charles P. (Chuck) Wagner of Bloomsburg, three daughters and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
A kind and generous soul, she will be sorely missed by her son and all who knew her.
